About

Jon grew up in the New Forest and found adventure and inspiration in the beautiful wild places he was surrounded by. A present from an uncle, a compact Olympus camera, started his journey in Photography. As his interest developed, he borrowed an Olympus OM-10 from his mother to document local wildlife in the New Forest and also adventures in Africa. As the adventures became more ambitious, so did the photography and images from a climbing expedition to Greenland were published online as well as in High Mountain magazine (October 2004) and the American Alpine Journal (volume 46, 2004).
Jon further developed his photography through Ffotogallery in Cardiff, the national agency for the development of photography in Wales. His most recent project 'Impressions' represents an attempt to capture the essence of a landscape through Impressionist style imagery. A selection of these images were displayed in an exhibition at the Mall Galleries in August 2015 (Light and Land at the Mall).
